Reworked User Interface

Great efficiency: The real highlight of the new generation of VRED Photo 5.5 is the completely reworked user interface. The software appears clearly arranged and offers logical structures. In combination with handy features for further personalization, VRED Photo 5.5. enables notably improved work processes. Furthermore, many funtions have been rearranged and simplified, so every day and repeating steps are now way easier to find and execute.

Enhanced Render Performance

All PI-VR software products are equipped with the same high end render engine. This is why VRED Photo 5.5, just as the new VRED Professional, includes the up to date render engine. This means significant performance enhancementes of the renderer - also for VRED Photo 5.5. The speed advantage is up to 15%, depending on the scene set up and the number of details included. Interior scenes using photontracing could be accelerated in particular.

Region Rendering

VRED PHOTO has always been a tool that had to be functional. In order to create first class advertising and marketing material, one needs to be able to take care of the smallest details. This is, what the region rendering is for. This function comes in handy especially in scenes with many details: when you need to evaluate special parts of the image or check little things without having to render the whole image. Special parts of the viewport can be selected and calculated separately - a highlight, particularly for setting up lights and materials perfectly.

Timestamp function

The timestamp function adds the current date and time to the filename. This comes in handy when evaluating different work steps and/or variants or when having to record the process of single work steps.

MaterialID export

The MaterialID function comes in handy for creatives in particular. This function helps to define a material's ID in VRED Photo and its information as seperate render layers. Thus predefined color masks enable exact further editing of materials, especially when when doing post processing or compositing.

New Timeline

VRED Photo 5.5 includes a new, global time line, which can optionally be inserted at the bottom of the main window. Thus it is possible to organize and synchronize or even individually execute processes.

FileIO

In version 5.5, special attention was given to an enhanced compatibility with other file formats, in order to ensure a better interchangeability between 3D softwares. This is the reason for the extended VRED Photo import- and export options. VRED Photo 5.5 now also supports reading CSB and C4D files. The improved compatibility regards FBX file formats, too: as of now, it is possible to import animations.

New image filters

The new VRED Photo 5.5 includes a set of predefined new and enhanced filter modes (amongst others: Catmull Rom, Sharp Gauss, Sharp BSpline, Sharp Triangle). They offer different methods for antialiasing when rendering stills or motion pictures as part of animations and thus help to receive perfect results.

HDR- and environment presets

VRED Photo 5.5. is also equipped with five HDR- and environment presets. This enables to for example quickly previsualize datasets for a first preview.

Improved Material functions

VRED Photo 5.5 ist equipped with enhanced material functions. It now includes transparecny maps, that help to control trancparencies through the texture settings.

Textures controlled via UV's can be managed easier, too. Color, Glossy, Bump or Transparency Textures can now be adjusted individually and transformed on the UV layout.
